Oysterman Triathlon 2019

500m Sea Swim; 20k Bike & 5k Run

Lorraine Neale and Sam Harraway represented the Striders at the 5th Oysterman Triathlon in Whitstable. Based in the heart of the town, along the beautiful Tankerton Slopes this unique sprint distance event consists of a 500m sea swim followed by a 20km cycle, finishing with a stunning, flat 5km coastal run.

Sam crossed the line in a time of 1:31:07 placing her 5th in her age group,157th overall out of 218 entrants. Lorraine finished in a time of 1:34:39, 7th in her age group, 179 overall.

Oysterman 2018

3 Striders took part in Whitstables 4th Oysterman Triathlon, based in the heart of the town, along the beautiful Tankerton Slopes this unique sprint distance consists of a 500m sea swim followed by a 20km cycle and finishes with a flat 5km coastal run.

Glenn Davies was first home crossing the line in 1:11:12 19th overall out of 205 entrants 4th in age category
Charles Smith 1:19:34 53rd overall 11th in age category
Nick Freeman 1:31:47 125th overall 28th in age category – this was Nicks first triathlon!

Oysterman Triathlon 2017

Oysterman Triathlon 2017 : 18th June 2017

4 Striders took part in the 3rd year of the Oysterman sprint distance triathlon known for being picturesque and friendly. Hot and sunny were welcome conditions for the 500m open water sea swim, followed by the 20k bike and 5k run on the technical yet flat course. Matt Nunn was 1st Strider home crossing the line in a time of 1:09:54 which placed him 9th overall out of 189 entrants and first in his age category! 2nd Strider home was Andy Baptie in a time of 1:20:41 placing him 40th overall. Martin Feaver took the 3rd spot in 1.32.50 placing him 100th overall. Danielle Smith represented the female Striders crossing the line in 1:43:23 placing her 152nd overall.
