Event: Sittingbourne 10K

The Striders were out in force on a sunny May morning for the 6th Rotary Club of Sittingbourne Invicta 10k race which lead them around the country lanes of Sittingbourne on a not too hilly course.
62 Striders took part Lee Simpson being the first strider home setting a new PB of 37:39 and placing him 10th overall in a field of 347 runners. In second Strider spot was James Sieloff in a time of 38:46 which placed him 14th overall. Taking third position was Jeremy Pridmore in a time of 39:44 a PB for him putting him in 18th place. Katie Rose was first female strider home in a time of 45:54 her first 10k placing her 72nd overall in the field of runners. Wendy Knee won a trophy for winning her age category (F 60+) and Katie Rose, Gill Holmes & Lucy Hewett took the Female Team Winners prize for Striders. The friendly encouragement of team members must of helped as 26 PB’s were totted up in total what a great day this was for the Striders!
