22 Striders turned out on sunny and windy March morning, 5 choosing to run the half marathon and 17 deciding on the 20 miler which is seen as a ideal pacing run for those taking part in spring marathons. The fast and flat route took the runners round the pancake-flat lanes surrounding the marsh town of Lydd.
In the Half – Phil Jackson secured 4th place in a field of 298 runners in a time of 1.14.53, Martin Ingram was second strider home in a time of 1.50.55 placing him 95th overall, Gary Read came in at 1.54.16, 3rd strider and placing him 112th. Nina Cook in her first race as a strider was first female home in a time of 2.05.52, 181st overall.
In the 20 miler – Gabor Toth was first strider home coming in 54th out of 498 runners, David Valenti and Kevin Rye came over the line together in a matching time of 2.30.53 placing them 79th and 80th. Lucy Hewett was first female strider home in a time of 2.47.54 placing her 161st overall. Full Results
