4 striders took part in the Whitstable 10k on Bank Holiday Monday, a popular out and back course along the Tankerton seafront. Emma Penfold was first strider home in 54min21secs and Max Bodimeade was the sole Male strider back in 1hr3mins
Nicky Knight and Max Bodimeade travelled to the other side of the south coast to take part in the Bideford 10k. Knight finished in a fantastic 53mins58secs and Bodimeade crossed the line in 1hr1min58secs

For Sarah Strachan bank holidays are a family affair so she set off to the run Frimley event with her son to take part in some races.
Sarah’s son completed the 2.5km event and Sarah finished the 10km event in 57.31. Sarah said: ‘It was extremely hot and hard but a fantastic event which was in aid of the Frimley Park Hospital Stroke Appeal.’
10 Striders travelled to Hampton Court for a rather regal half marathon. First club member home went to Laura Forster in a speedy 1.55.53. Hot on her heals was Gina Woodfine who completed the 13.1-mile course in 2.02.36. Joint honours for third back home went to Esther Harris and Sean Bootes who both managed 2.10.27.
3 Striders took part in the Marden 10km which is a flat fast race organised by Velocity events in aid of the Kent air ambulance.
Ceri Robert-Burr came in 22nd place out of a field of 177 runners in a time of 44.48 which is a new PB for him.
Sally Smith crossed the line in 50.50 placing her 54th overall. Sally ran with her baby Sophie in the running buggy.
John Kingsnorth’s time was 53.39 placing him 68th.
Simplyhealth Great Birmingham Run : Sunday 15th October
Craig & Jo Eccleston travelled to Birmingham to take part in the Simplyhealth Great Run which is now established as the second biggest half marathon in the UK. Coming back from illness Craig crossed the line in 1.55.57 placing him 2231 out of 5203 runners while his wife Jo crossed the line 2.16.47 placing her in 5110 position overall.
2 Striders took part in the Staplehust 10k, a fast, flat course around the village lanes makes this a popular race for runners hoping for a PB. Alison Davey crossed the line in 49m 21s placing her 131st out of 379 entrants. Ronald Smith finished in 56m 43 s placing him 220th overall.
10 Striders took part in the Harvel 5, this ever popular race packs a lot into its 5 mile out and back route including tarmac, woodland, rocky slopes and mud! On a particularly hot June afternoon the tired runners could enjoy a cold beer along the route if they desired or afterwards where people gathered on the pretty village green.

6 Striders set off on the Tankerton Slopes on a soggy Bank Holiday Monday heading out to Hampton Pier at Herne Bay. The terrain is mainly flat producing some fast running times and Rhys Goddard did not disappoint coming 2nd overall out of 618 entrants in a time of 34.08! Norman Swann was 2nd Strider home in a time of 51.08 placing him 189th overall. Emma Penfold was 3rd Strider home and first female in a time of 54.32 285th overall. Ronald Smith 55.39 placing him 317th. Laura Forster 56.04 328th overall. Max Bodimeam 58.42 390th overall.
