Elsewhere Sally Smith took part in the Maidstone Riverside 10km. Due to parenting commitments she was unable to take part in Sittingbourne, but the race organisers at Maidstone kindly agreed to let her run whilst pushing 1-year-old Sophie in her running buggy meaning she was able to get a race in.
The field was not as large as Sittingbourne, with around 100 runners entered, however the straight out and back course along the riverside proved for a picturesque outing.
Sally was delighted to completed 10km in 50.43. This saw her placed 5 th lady and she also took home a trophy for 1 st in her age group, (35-44-years). Co-pilot Sophie enjoyed looking at the ducks in the river before falling asleep for the whole race.
