London Marathon 2017

London Marathon 2017 : 23rd April 2017

18 Striders were lucky enough to run in this iconic marathon either by club, ballot, charity or good for age place. In true Strider spirit many club members had travelled up to support them along the route around the landmarks of London.

Anthony Jackson was first Strider home in an outstanding time of 2:36:20 placing him 171st out of 45401 entrants!  2nd Strider home was brother Phil Jackson in a time of 2:44:26, which placed him 512nd overall. 3rd Strider spot went to Gary Deacon in a time of 3:26:15 placing him 5512 overall. 1st Female Strider home was Lucy Hewett in a time of 3:42:33 a PB for her placing her 8746 overall. 

Special mention goes to Gina Woodfine and Marriane Seaward who, despite injuries for Gina during training, completed the race and between them raised an over £5,400 for local charity Demelza.
