Sevenoaks Triathlon
| On
Sunday The 28th April 4 members of the Sittingbourne Striders Tri were
lucky enough to take part in one of the most popular local triathlons,
the 7Oaks Tri which sell out in record time every year. The day started
quite chilly but soon warmed up with a lovely summer feeling in the
air, and the sun high in the sky. First to set off in the pool for the 400m swim was Steve Shrimplin , followed by Ian Gower, Sebastian Charlery then Matt Norris. Out of the pool and a short dash to transition 1 (T1) where they all grabbed their helmets, bikes, sunglasses, number belts and off on the 25k bike ride around the hilly Sevenoaks country lanes. Back into Transition 2 (T2 ) where they quickly racked their bikes and put on their trainers and head out to Knowles Park where they run the 8k run route. Click to go to results page |
![]() First Strider to come across the finish line was Matt Norris in a
brilliant time of 01:33 which is a PB by more than 5 minutes and also
achieved an Evergreen medal!
Well done to the Striders Triathletes and Mimi, Aaron and Ashley Charlery who supported the team on the day. What a great start to the triathlon season! |
